Yep, we’re talking about the BannerSnack referral program here.

How it works?

  1. From within your BannerSnack account go to » my account » referral program
  2. Start a campaign and get the referral code to be used along with your campaign.
  3. Get the embed code for our static or flash banners and place them on your website. You can use text links as well.

At least that’s what you can think of when you see a 300×600 px banner, also called “half page ad”. Yep, it’s the biggest of all the standard sizes. And yes, it is rarely used. Check this out (I know you already did):

Now the real challenge is to figure out whether:
a) advertisers have bigger budgets or
b) the advertising space got cheaper?

a), b), both, neither? What do you know about that?

The introduction of SWF export feature has pleased many of you. However, odds are that a big part of you haven’t ever worked with SWF files before. And the biggest challenge is to embed them properly into a website.

Download Adobe standalone SWF player

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Now that you can export the banners you created with BannerSnack to SWF files, you might want to play them independently of your browser. The first thing you can think of is to download Adobe Flash Player. But since you used BannerSnack, that means you already have the flash player installed. However Adobe Flash Player won’t solve your problem, as it still uses a browser to play SWF files, and you need a player that would play the SWFs independently, right?

Don’t search for “adobe swf player” as you will get this page. Dead end.

SWF output is here, but still in BETA

Friday, February 27th, 2009

As you might have already noticed, BannerSnack launched the long-expected SWF export feature. That is, from now on you can download your banners to your hard drive and use them however you like and wherever you like.

Not to mention the multitude of opportunities that have just opened for advertisers and freelancers alike. I’m taking about the fact that most publishers and networks (or at least the big ones) only accept SWF files. From now on, this won’t be an issue for the banners made with BannerSnack.

The banner above was made with BannerSnack, exported to SWF and embedded the classical way:

A major BannerSnack update was just launched!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Maybe you’ve noticed that BannerSnack was down for a few hours. Due to a “scheduled maintenance, and website update” it read.

You’re probably wondering what’s new on BannerSnack as a result of this update. Well, let’s see:

  • Website interface redesign. You’ll notice a clean, more web 2.0 design for the BannerSnack homepage and other subpages.
  • SWF output. Yes, the most-wanted feature for BannerSnack, the ability to export your banners to a SWF and download them to your machines, is now up and running!

Valentine’s Day cards

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Since Valentine’s Day is about to knock at the door, I thought many of you would like to send a Valentine’s Day card to your loooved ones. Like this one below:

Replay.

Now I know the “lyrics” are not that inspired (I’ve took them from a shady website – even the saying might date back from the Dark Ages), so I invite you to change them. Just open the BannerSnack application (you need an account for that), go to public banners and search for “valentines”. You should easily find it.

However, if you don’t have much time for editing, you can send the banner above just the way it is. Click here to get it.

5 annoying banners: how NOT to advertise

Monday, February 9th, 2009

1. Congratulations: you’ve got spam!

There’s no point in explaining why this flickering spammy banner is annoying and to be avoided. Note however the “Name” field. You’d think it’s an interactive banner. But no, it’s an ordinary GIF trying to deceive you.

SWF export is coming soon

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

The results of the poll are quite telling:

The SWF output feature is by far your most wanted feature. We are already working on it.

But SWF export is not the only feature that’s going to be implemented in the near future, templates and more fonts are knocking at the door.

We hope that will going to greatly improve your experience, dear BannerSnack users.
